Tyrenet, who also operate Hankook Truck Masters breakdown network on behalf of Hankook has achieved an average Hankook fitment rate of 81% in the first quarter of 2010. The HTM system is driven by Tyrenet’s internal IT systems, and has been managed by Tyrenet since April 2009.
Tyrenet now oversees several Hankook Truck Masters fleets on behalf of the one of the world’s fastest growing tyre manufacturers, whilst also working with other Tyrenet fleets who also insist on Hankook product. This is no doubt excellent news for Hankook sales in the UK.
Tyrenet Finance and Operations Director said:
“This excellent fitment rate is further proof that Tyrenet are working to the highest levels in order to make sure that our customers recieve the product they want, at the price they expect. It is a tribute to our own internal systems here at Tyrenet, our dealer network across the UK and the Hankook supply chain from factory to shop floor. Here at Tyrenet, we are continuously developing our business practices and as a result we should see an increase in this figure in the coming months”
Between October 2008 and October 2009 the UK replacement tyre market for commercial vehicles shrank by 17.2%. This drop has been attributed to the lower numbers of commercial vehicle registrations in the UK.
To save in the short term many commercial fleets have been turning away from premium brands, with many budget brands seeing their market share increase, whilst many premium brands, such as Continental have seen their business squeezed.

Many fleet operators do not however take into account the tyre’s overall life cost, including service work, along with the effect a premium tyre has on overall fuel consumption.
And looking at some of the figures that Tyrenet has collected over the recent weeks we have seen that premium and quality brands are out performing other brands on fleets.
Visible savings now? Or long term savings in the future…?
