Inflate Your Tyres – Not Your Fuel Bill

by Aaron on January 19th, 2017 in News

With everyone feeling the pinch at the moment, many people are looking at effective ways to make savings. One of the major expenses for the majority of people at the moment is fuel, and prices continue to spiral out of control.

tyre inflation

A recent study by a major tyre manufacturer has shown that across Europe 71% of us are throwing money down the drain simply by not keeping on top of our tyre pressures.

With more than two thirds of European car owners driving on underinflated tyres we are wasting around 2 billion litres of fuel per year. With prices in the UK verging on the ridiculous, that equates to around £2.4 billion per year.

And not only is this hurting us in the pocket, but it is also hurting the environment as this has caused us to release an additional 4.8 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.

Tyrenet recommends that you check your pressures on a regular basis at your local petrol station. For more information on the correct pressure for your tyres, please check with your manufacturer or your local independent tyre dealer.
